Filament winding & fiber placement

Filament winding is an automated process in which filaments (mainly of carbon or of glass) are wound around a rotating mandrel. During winding the fibers are coated with synthetic resin. Fibers can be positioned at any angle within the component.

By adapting the layers and patterns to the external and internal loads tubes and other parts can be strength-optimized. Most beneficial is the economy of material and of production time which has positive effects on low costs as well as on low weight.

We are about to put into operation a state-of-the-art manufacturing line for the automated production of complex composite parts, of filament wound tubes and of other wound components.

We provide parts with a maximal length of 22m and a maximal diameter of 1m.
